Episode 1.8. In Which Other Functioning Realities are Witnessed

There are occasions in which family members get together. Births, deaths, weddings....or sometimes, just because. Because you feel like it, you have to, or there is information to convey that simply won't do by phone, internet or even  pen and paper.
Autism takes many forms I am told, but to look into the eyes of a three year old, and be sucked into an entirely different Universe can reset your timing in a nanosecond. Gemma is my great niece. And she was there.
She is the unwitting carrier of a different reality. Her eyes, stellar blue, seem to look everywhere, but never directly to you. The World is much more important. She floats from one period of intense observance to the next. Her observation is keen, and focuses on minutiae. Her eyes  never focus on the humans around her---just the World. Physical advances happen at lighting speed.
"Oh...here is a staircase. I better do this..."
She has a language of her own, that she shares with those she knows exist as phantoms around her.
This is a World that I know nothing of. It belongs to her. She is lovely, healthy, and  a mystery vessel, into which information can be poured, or from mystery can be extracted.
But it is up to her to show us what she can hold, in time. And what she will reveal.
I  await the revelation.
